Michael Orbach is a Managing Director at Pagemill Partners. He has over 25 years of operational and transactional experience in the software and services industries. He has closed more than 70 public, private and cross-border mergers and acquisitions (M&A) and financings in enterprise software, Internet and media, broadcast, storage and IT services.

Prior to joining Pagemill Partners, he was a partner at an investment bank providing advisory services for sell-side M&A. Prior to this, he was a founding member of ABB New Ventures, the corporate finance and venture capital group of ABB Ltd., where he was Managing Director of the ABB Industrial IT Venture Fund.

During his career as a software entrepreneur, he co-founded and managed Simulation Sciences from inception through its IPO, led technology and service company mergers & acquisitions for Aspen Technology (NASDAQ:AZPN) and co-founded Skyva International and then later sold the company to ABB Ltd. for $130M in cash.

Michael has a bachelor’s degree in chemical engineering from the University of Witwatersrand in South Africa and an MBA from the University of Washington. Michael holds Series 7, 24 and 63 securities licenses.
